While it is still public Preview Azure AD Connect (previously known as Azure Active Directory Sync or DirSync), Microsoft has already announced some new features in this product:
- Sync filtering based on groups
- Directory Extension attribute sync
- User writeback
- Group writeback
- Device writeback
- Device sync
- Staging mode
- Preventing accidental deletions
